Possum Dreaming Shine and Show

Possum Dreaming is a Dreaming Australia production in association with Wilora Community on Kaytej country.

Dreaming Australia Presents - Possum Dreaming Shine and Show at the Barrow Creek Race Track, a novelty car event and the opportunity for the Wampere Possum Dreaming of Wilora to share their story and song. 

The proposes program will include:

• A novelty car event (6-10 vehicles)

• Amateur Boxing (Arrernte Community Boxing, exhibition fights)

• Fashion on the Field

• A music stage, camping over 2-3 days

• The sharing of possum dreaming at Wilora community and Barrow Creek racetrack.

• By arrangement with local business owners, Stirling Station, Barrow Creek Hotel and the Thangkenharenge Indigenous Corporation

The event includes a range of opportunities over two weeks for young men and women of the Kaytej and surrounding communities to engage with their elders in rehearsing and sharing culture with non-indigenous and multicultural visitors.

Visitors will be encouraged to share their skills and energy in collaboration with the ancient culture to create a contemporary event which integrates the ancient and the modern.
